Senior Accounting Analyst - 0524
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Accounting Analyst provides financial analysis relevant to company initiatives and decisions.
Assists in accurate and timely general ledger and period end closings and participates in monthly financial preparation and review.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with other departments on return-on-investment analytics for various company initiatives, including new games and promotions. Develops a good understanding of lottery games and payouts to advise on financial implications.
- Oversees daily and monthly accounting activities to maintain the general ledger and prepare the monthly financial reports.
- Prepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Assists with complex accounting tasks.
- Assists with developing policies and procedures and maintaining adherence to internal controls and Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB).
- Assists in the development of the annual corporate budget.
- Assists in analysis of actual spend versus budget and development of annual projections.
- Analyzes process gaps, establishes best practices for business processes and transactions, and facilitates process changes. Identifies and strives for continued process improvement.
- Serves as one of the subject matter experts of the ERP system, providing assistance in identifying and implementing enhancements.
- Performs transaction testing as part of quality assurance project testing.
- Works with external auditors and prepares requested schedules for the fiscal year audit.
- Assists in the preparation of the annual comprehensive financial report.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar degree required. Master’s degree a plus.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in accounting or financial analysis is required.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and/or Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB).
- Competent computer skills with advanced Microsoft Excel expertise.
- Experience serving as a business analyst, making recommendations for improvement to company business processes.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple departments.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Office/Hybrid environment in accordance with KLC policies.
