A Lexington man, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he consistently plays the same set of Kentucky Lottery Powerball numbers every week.

Last Monday night was no different, except this time, after playing his favorite set of numbers, he won $50,000.

“I have a set of numbers saved in my favorites online,” he told lottery officials.

After checking his phone the following morning, he saw where he had received an email from the Kentucky Lottery letting him know he won the $50,000 Powerball prize.  His ticket had matched four numbers and the Powerball from the February 26th drawing.

When asked if he told anyone about his win, he said he only shared the news with his wife. He mentioned he gave her a hard time before telling her, but then showed her his email. “I had to taunt her with my victory”, the man teased.

The Fayette County man said he rearranged some plans after receiving the email and headed to lottery headquarters in Louisville later that same day.

He told officials he has no specific plans for his winnings but, “every little bit helps.”

After taxes, he took home a check for $36,000.
