Network Support Technician - 1726
JOB SUMMARY
The Network Support Technician is responsible for the monitoring of the Kentucky Lottery Corporation’s (KLC’s) computing network and assisting senior members of the Network Services Team with the installation and configuration of server/network hardware and software components, disk management, problem determination and resolution. Provides first level IT support to the KLC using Service Desk tools for problem determination and resolution by analyzing, identifying, and diagnosing faults and symptoms. Provides technical advice and support to customers using desktops, computers systems and peripheral equipment. Maintains documentation as it relates to troubleshooting and operational procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Delivers first-level service desk support, including in-person assistance with equipment setup, onboarding new hires, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing physical assets.
- Monitors the Service Desk ticket queue, triages, and assigns tickets to IT staff as needed.
- Assists the Network and Server Administrators by monitoring the computing network and completing tasks associated with ongoing projects and maintenance.
- Creates and maintains service desk procedure documentation as needed.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and supports desktop hardware, applications, client software, and network printers as assigned.
- Completes administrative maintenance and organization of computer and network components including cable management and asset inventory as assigned.
- Performs various duties as assigned by manager including preparing reports, attending meetings, and performing studies as they relate to Information Technology.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in information technology desired. Equivalent relatable experience or industry certifications may be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Minimum two years’ experience supporting desktop/PC hardware and software, modern Windows operating systems, and Microsoft networking and servers.
- Microsoft certifications, experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365 a plus.
- Understanding of network topologies, components, and concepts including familiarity with commonly used practices and procedures as they relate to desktop and network hardware and software.
- Familiar with service desk ticketing systems and working within a team environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills with proven attention to detail.
- Must be self-directed and self-motivated with the ability to work independently on assigned tasks under minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally at all levels of the organization and properly document changes and procedures.
- Must be dependable with excellent time-management skills and consistent attendance.
- Must have valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Salary Range: $54,156-$67,643 (Midpoint). Our goal is to pay a competitive market salary for new employees, which is typically up to the midpoint of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills and internal pay equity
