Another $50,000 Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Kentucky; Last Week’s Campbellsville Winners Claim Their Prize

For the second time in as many weeks, Kentucky has produced a $50,000 Powerball winner.

The most recent winning ticket, from the Saturday, April 18 drawing, was purchased at Kroger, located at 4101 Tates Creek Center Dr., Lexington, Ky. 50517. The ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball to secure the $50,000 prize.

This comes just days after last week’s $50,000 Powerball prize – sold at T-MART in Campbellsville, Ky. – was claimed by Melvin and Donna Bradley of Campbellsville.

The Bradleys said they learned of their win from a post on the Kentucky Lottery’s Facebook page.

“We had a mutual friend of ours post on Facebook that there was a $50,000 winner in Campbellsville,” Melvin said.

Donna said she asked which store her husband had purchased his tickets from and quickly began connecting the dots.

“I said, ‘Did you get some tickets?’ and he said, ‘Yeah!’” Donna recalled. “So, I said, ‘Well, give them here – I need to check them!’”

Donna checked two tickets before coming to the third, where she realized this was the winning ticket.

“I started matching the numbers,” she said. “I was like, ‘I think he won $50,000!’ So, I opened my lottery app and scanned the ticket, and it said ‘Congratulations!’”

Melvin said he remained cool when he heard the news, but Donna admitted she was the most excited of the two.

“I think I was more excited than he was,” she said.

The couple said they don’t have immediate plans for their winnings, though Bradley shared that they may look toward future home remodeling projects.

“I’m blessed for this,” Melvin said. “Totally blessed.”

The couple received $36,250 after taxes, and T‑MART will receive $500 for selling the winning ticket.
