What started as an ordinary Wednesday for Darrell Miller, of Hyden, Ky. quickly turned into a day he’ll never forget – all thanks to a $3 spin on the Kentucky Lottery’s Soccer Fortune Instant Play game.
Just a few days earlier, Miller had snagged a $600 win on Soccer Fortune. Feeling lucky, he decided to give the game another go.
“I spent $3 on a spin and on the third spin I won fifteen grand,” Miller said. “It’s more money than I woke up with that day, that’s for sure.”
After claiming his prize, he walked away with $10,875 after taxes, a check he says he’s planning to simply save for now.
He shared the good news with his boss. “Everybody at work knew and was excited for me,” Miller said. “It was a good week.”
Soccer Fortune is one of the Kentucky Lottery’s Instant Play games. The online game offers a top prize of $600,000.
