Ashlee Colemire and Nicholas Mason took up Kentucky Lottery games about six months ago to spend time together and bond.

“It’s been a learning curve, for sure,” Mason joked.

The couple has become well-versed in the rules, odds, and prize structures of their favorite Lottery games, and they even have a go to retailer in Vanceburg where they buy their Scratch off tickets.

“We love the place and the people who work there,” Colemire said.

The Vanceburg couple also love traveling across Kentucky, and when they visit new cities, they make a point to pick up Scratch off tickets from different Lottery retailers.

“We found out about the Stuff Your Wallet promotion at our store back home, but when we traveled, we would buy some of the President’s games and enter the promotion,” Mason said.

The Kentucky Lottery’s second-chance promotion – Stuff Your Wallet With Green and Gold – allowed players to enter any of the “Bucks” tickets – Jefferson, Lincoln, Hamilton, and Jackson – and the Deluxe Gold ticket for a chance to win up to $10,000. The promotion ended April 15.

Colemire and Mason both entered the promotion, but Colemire’s name was selected from a random drawing of entrees by the Kentucky Lottery.

“We have had so much luck with winning on the President tickets, and now I’m so excited to have won the second-chance promotion,” said Colemire, who left Kentucky Lottery Headquarters with a check for $1,000 after winning the tier three prize on the promotion.

The couple plans to use the money to continue their travels around the state.

Colemire says she’s already looking forward to the Lottery’s next round of second-chance promotions, and she’s hoping luck finds Mason next.
